I have been a jack of many trades. My accounting background started back in the USA when I lived there. I helped my brother in his plumbing company with accounts and wages. I also helped another friend get his MYOB system up and running. On my return to NZ with a husband and three children in tow, I worked as a waitress (this was easier with 3 kids). I then started working for a building company as a contractor, then moved into a part-time position that worked with my family life. I saw the advertisement for Themepro and thought “This role seems like it suits me to a tee”.

Accounting with some fun thrown in. So here I landed and after working for Chris for a few years I decided I loved it so much I brought it into the company. I love the diversity and we have such a fun family feel, it really is special coming to work every day.

I can’t say I have a favourite as we have so many fun and varied events. It’s the sense of satisfaction when we have finished the install before everyone arrives and I look at our work and think “They are going to love this!”  We take such pride in delivering the best!

I sit in the seat that has to deal with more of the accounts stuff, it’s not a popular seat in our office, apart from the chilly days when no one wants to be out in the cold warehouse. So the first thing I do is to get my coffee to jolt the brain and sort any accounts. I then move to the fun side of things – the events! After that the day gets more varied; I could be creating centrepieces, designing an event for a client or sourcing new items for our ever growing inventory. I love my days when the team bounces ideas around the office (there are lots of rainbows and unicorns involved! Oh, and did I mention spaceships?).
